Game Boards (Industrial Revolution)
Description
After the learners are provided with an overview of the Industrial Revolution, they design board games in small groups. The game aims to help players learn about the new inventions, theories, and philosophies that emerged during the Industrial Revolution. Students could use elements from an existing game, but were not allowed to simply create an Industrial-Revolution-version of a game. On game day learners play each of the games for 20-30 minute rotations. At the end of playing, each leaner completes a graphic organizer as an exit ticket to assess for mastery and understanding.

Learners were to pay attention to the artistic and dramatic interpretation of the process of industrialization; they were able to note that the dance movements parallel factory movements on assembly lines, and the creation of the Olympic symbol was done with "steel".
